Chad Songy

After attending his first Point Guard College session as a high school athlete in 2002, Chad Songy has been successfully applying PGC concepts to his life and to his game for nearly a decade.

Chad was truly an efficient and versatile point guard, finishing his career in the Millsaps College record books in several categories: 4th in assists, 4th in 3 pointers made, 3rd in both free throw percentage (.836) and 3 point percentage (.409). He was a SCAC All-Conference player and a 2009 Nominee for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award, given to the best male point guard throughout all NCAA Divisions.

As a 5’8’’ Point Guard, Chad was often physically outmatched but rarely out-skilled and outsmarted. The exceptional leadership skills Chad developed at the Point Guard College helped him as the starting point guard on the most successful team in both school and conference history. The 2007-2008 Majors finished the season 28-4, losing to the eventual D3 national champions in the Elite Eight after Songy kept the magical season alive by hitting a buzzer beating 3 pointer to reach the Sweet Sixteen.

Chad’s pursuit for excellence was never confined to the court. A Magna Cum Laude graduate with a double major (Economics) and degree in Business Administration, he was selected twice by ESPN the Magazine as an Academic-All Region Selection.

Chad is the co-founder of Laugh Learn Cometry, a professional speaking organization that combines comedy and poetry to encourage young people to discover their gifts and passions.

Chad is a full time director and clinician with Point Guard College.
